DAYS 19 & 20 - Wudang Mountain
A brief history
Taoists believe that the legendary Emperor Zhenwu, one of the most influential gods in Taoism, practiced austerities and ascended to heaven as an immortal in the mountain
thousands of pilgrims journey to the mountain each year
also renowned as Immortals' Mountain of Taoism and the World for Swordsman
well-known for its deep-rooted tradition of wushu
has 8 palaces, 2 Taoist temples, 72 rock temples, 12 pavilions and 10 shrines
approx 1,612 meters above sea level
(been there done that ! )
DAY ONE
visited temples and tourist sites
giddy bus rides
ITS TEN TIMES WORSE THEN GENTING HIGHLANDS
the roads are super narrow and steep
with no barriers at all
briefing by the tour guide
one word : HUGE
burning incense in a temple has always been a solemn and grave activity
this pillar has 12 beams attached
they throw coins at it for luck and fortune
reminded me of the muslim ritual
but we throw rocks instead

DAY TWO - the long way up
the brave souls of MDE

100 steps is nothing compared to the whole way up

the stench is HORRID
peeing in the open
even the locals cant stand the toilet

the Golden Palace
at the very top of the mountain
side of the golden palace
they will touch and throw coins
symbol of luck and prosperity
i threw a coin too !
but it hit the head of some old man
these locks signify that your love life has been locked
the higher you lock it the better
